Together against cancer with Gustave Roussy

Scalp Cooling

A Message from the CEO

“Those who drive a company’s culture expect their employer to embody and uphold their personal values. Businesses can no longer limit themselves to a purely economic role, they must embrace their social responsibility. We are all aware of the impact cancer has had for decades. Knowing that research is now so close to its goal seems to me to be the best reason to stop hesitating and commit fully to this final battle so that, together, we can win the war against cancer once and for all.”

Philippe Monnoyeur, CEO of Monnoyeur.

10 Years of Commitment, 120 Years of History, a Shared Future

For the past 10 years, Monnoyeur and its business units have been supporting Gustave Roussy in its efforts to combat cancer and improve patients’ quality of life. To mark its 120th anniversary, Monnoyeur is making an additional donation to support Gustave Roussy’s cooling cap project. This next-generation device helps reduce hair loss caused by chemotherapy, thereby helping patients maintain their self-confidence, sense of identity, and quality of life throughout their treatment. This donation will also help provide more patients with access to innovative supportive care and equip medical teams with the necessary equipment and training to support them. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate our history by helping to build a better future for others.

Cooling Cap

Cooling caps are medical devices used during chemotherapy sessions to minimize hair loss. By cooling the scalp, they reduce blood flow to the hair follicles, thereby decreasing their exposure to chemotherapy drugs.

Benefits: reduced hair loss depending on the treatment, preservation of self-image, and improved psychological well-being and quality of life for patients.

Siemens Naeotom Alpha Scanner

In September 2023, Gustave Roussy installed the next-generation Naeotem Alpha scanner, the first of its kind in France for oncology. Faster and with lower radiation exposure, it provides high-resolution images that enable early detection of tumors and metastases and improve treatment effectiveness.

Benefits: lower radiation exposure, more accurate images, early detection, optimized treatment.

Cytometre Time Of Flight

The Time-of-Flight Cytometer (CyTOF) is a mass spectrometer that is essential for advancing immunotherapy. It identifies cells using markers coupled to heavy metals, which generate ions that are measured by mass spectrometry.

Benefits: up to 50 parameters can be detected simultaneously, high sensitivity, minimal data processing.

Pristina Mammography Machine

The latest-generation Pristina mammography scanner combines conventional 3D mammography with angio-mammography-guided biopsy, offering an alternative to MRI for suspicious lesions. More comfortable and interactive, it reduces patients’ anxiety whilst delivering excellent image quality without increasing the radiation dose.

Benefits: Optimal image quality, accurate diagnosis, controlled radiation exposure and enhanced patient comfort.

Loccioni Chemotherapy Robot

This pharmaceutical robot increases output to keep pace with the growth in outpatient activity, improves consistency and preparation times, and relieves pharmacy technicians of repetitive tasks. It also enhances patient safety through gravimetric checks on 100 per cent of preparations.

Benefits: Automated dispensing, precise dosing, enhanced patient safety and reduced staff exposure to cytotoxic drugs.
