BMA inaugurates its renovation center “ROCC”
Bergerat Monnoyeur Algeria “BMA”, subsidiary of Monnoyeur, the only and official representative in Algeria of the American brand Caterpillar, world leader in construction and mining equipment, generator sets, diesel and gas engines, proceeded on Tuesday, February 28th, 2023 to the official opening of its new semi-industrial site, the ROCC, Renovation Ouargla Cat Center, located in the south of the country, in the wilaya of Ouargla.
This major investment in Ouargla by BMA and Monnoyeur group, despite a difficult economic context, reflects our commitment to semi-industrial production, which offers more local value creation in line with the government’s objectives.
The Secretary General of the Wilaya of Ouargla as well as numerous personalities representing the Ministries of Commerce, Industry and Energy and Mines honoured us with their presence and inaugurated the site in front of more than 100 important clients from the region and from Algeria. Monnoyeur group was represented by Mr. Philippe RIVOALLAN, General Manager in charge of activities related to the Caterpillar brand and Mrs. Laurence DELEMAZURE, Financial Director. Senior Caterpillar executives were also present, including Mr. Christophe PELE, Vice President Caterpillar for the Europe, Africa and Middle East region, and Ms. Eva BLASBERG, District Manager.
This industrial site is intended for the renovation of Caterpillar engines, generators and public works machines.
More than just repairs, our ambition is to offer our customers the possibility of restoring all their equipment to near new condition through a process known as “rebuilt”. This practice, specific to Caterpillar dealers, is a real alternative to the purchase of new and more expensive equipment by offering a second life to the original equipment.
Located 80km from Hassi Messaoud, the ROCC is an investment of 1.2 billion dinars ($8.6 million). Covering an area of 4 ha on the Touggourt-Ouargla axis, it includes a 1300 m2 oil engine refurbishment centre, a regional TP machinery refurbishment workshop, a training centre (BMA Academy), a spare parts shop and a 47-room living quarters. It was designed with the help of CATERPILLAR and set up according to international standards. This modern and functional building has been designed to offer the best possible quality of repair; the building is pressurised and of course air-conditioned, allowing work to be carried out in summer temperatures and sandy winds in compliance with Caterpillar’s “contamination control” standards.
It is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment to promote the quality of repairs, such as overhead cranes and jib cranes from 1t to 15t, the Combi-lift with a capacity of 35t allowing the rapid movement of containers and generator sub-assemblies, and the high-capacity washer allowing the cleaning of all engine components including the complete block. This building will of course be greened with the planting of more than 2500 trees inside our grounds and 3000 outside.
