1938

Creation of the first regional subsidiary in Toulouse.

After the war, the Group develops the regional network with the opening of new subsidiaries in Bordeaux, Nancy, Lyon, Marseille and Lille.
The company was thus structured to efficiently support major construction projects in France and their growing complexity : motorways, canals, dams, airports. The development of the business was achieved in particular through the multiplication of regional after-sales service workshops and the opening of the first specialised workshops for marine engines and forklift trucks.

 

 

Caterpillar tractors a big hit. They were the stars of the regional agricultural shows.

1964

The group innovates in the customer relationship process by creating the blue contract, which offers over 3 years a financing plan, a free repair contract and a strong take-back commitment.

From Verneuil-sur-Seine to the Col de Mont-Cenis.

On Wednesday 8 April 1964, a convoy of 6 Caterpillar 651 motorscrapers left Verneuil-sur-Seine at dawn.

 

On the evening of Sunday 12 April, these machines arrived at the Mont-Cenis dam in the Alps at an altitude of almost 2000m.

 

Development of the Motor and Autonomous Energy Sales departments.

 

In the middle of Paris, Place de l’Etoile, a Caterpillar D9 tractor will be lowered into the basement for the construction of the future underground RER station.

 

80 km stretch from Nemours to Appoigny near Auxerre. 17 motor graders, 13 chain tractors, 4 graders, 4 towed rollers, 1 wheel loader and 3 dumpers for a daily production of between 15,000 m² and 16,000 m².

 

The first Caterpillar rigid dumpers were a huge success. One of the two 769s in service in a quarry in the Loire Valley.

The Group diversifies its activities in the car maintenance market with the acquisition of FEU VERT, the leading franchised car centre in France, and IMPEX, the leading car distributor to mass retailers.
The development of this activity continued in France, Spain, Poland and Italy until 2007, when the Group refocused on its historical businesses.

The Groupe Monnoyeur becomes the exclusive Caterpillar dealer in Romania and continues its internationalisation.
On the strength of its know-how, it is also deploying diversified activities in this Central European market through new partnerships, in particular those with Renault Véhicules Industriels, RENAULT DACIA and JOHN DEERE.
The Group will develop the distribution activities of industrial vehicles and light vehicles until 2010, after which it will only continue to develop its agricultural activity.

Baudouin Monnoyeur succeeds his father Christian and his uncle Olivier as Chairman.

Creation of the Groupe Monnoyeur, which brings together the CAT activities and the new automotive division with the aim of developing the company’s business internationally.
